Todd M. Czerneski, 57, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at his home.

Todd was born on February 1, 1968, son of Michael (Mary Kay “Cookie”) Czerneski and the late Audrey (Asunto) Czerneski. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School, Ironwood MI, in May 1986. He married Annette (Malkowski) Czerneski on September 15, 1990, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Knowlton WI, she survives.

Todd obtained a Machinist Technician certificate during his high school career. This certificate helped him secure a position as a machinist at Woodward Governor Company in Stevens Point, WI in February 1987. Todd and Annette met a month later in March 1987 at Woodward Governor Company. For them, it was “love at first sight”. They cherished spending quality time together and enjoyed many of the same hobbies. In their early years, they spent time together going to Nascar races, travelling to national parks, biking, ATVing, snowmobiling, and working on Todd’s jacked-up Chevrolet Blazers and taking them mudding. Todd and Annette purchased their first home in Plover, WI in May 1991. After 12 years together, and 9 years married, they welcomed their first daughter, Carissa Czerneski, into their lives in 1999. Later, they welcomed another daughter, Kendra Czerneski, in 2003, who became Carissa’s best playmate. With two daughters, the Czerneski family outgrew their first home in Plover, WI. Todd and Annette were always the best team, but this teamwork truly shined when they worked together to build their dream home on 10 acres of beautiful, quiet property in Junction City, WI. Annette designed the home and Todd worked tirelessly to construct it. They moved into the home in November of 2004. Todd and Annette didn’t know it at the time, but welcoming their only son, Joshua Czerneski, in 2007, was the final piece to their puzzle. Joshua became Todd’s little helper and grew up to become his go-to guy. Todd and Annette dedicated their lives to raising their children and shared all of their hobbies with them. Specifically, the family enjoyed weekend ATVing, snowmobiling, and boating adventures. They also travelled to numerous national and state parks, as well as other family vacation destinations throughout the country. Todd was always willing to take the scenic route when driving on these trips to find a waterfall for Annette to explore and photograph. As their children grew older, Todd and Annette were able to spend time together travelling to destinations that they had dreamed of during their younger years with some of their closest friends. These destinations included Puerto Vallarta MEX, Punta Cana DOM, and Riviera Maya MEX. This time together was cherished deeply by both Todd and Annette.

Todd was truly one in a million. He was a husband, coworker, friend, and a jack of all trades. However, he was also the absolute best dad. Todd was always the hardest worker in the room and he made sure to instill that strong work ethic into each of his children. The life lessons and skills that he was able to teach and pass on to his children carved them into the young adults that they are today. Todd always made sure that his children knew how proud he was of them as they pursued various hobbies, career paths, and personal endeavors throughout their childhood and early adulthood. He supported them in every way that he could and was always ready with the best advice and the answer to any question that his children ever asked him. Whether it be the Czerneski family tradition of going out to dinner each Friday evening, going on ATV or snowmobiling trips, or finding a project around the house that everyone could work on together, spending time with his children was one of Todd’s priorities. The memories and traditions that Todd had with his wife and children are ones that they will cherish, remember, and carry on forever.

Todd’s children have so many wonderful memories of time spent with their father. Carissa’s fondest memories with her dad were on Sunday mornings when she was in grade school. He would take her to Sunday school and after class, Carissa and her dad would go to the “Blueberry Muffin”, a small cafe in Stevens Point, to enjoy breakfast together. They would listen to country music in the car on the ride home, and to this day, this genre is Carissa’s favorite. Carissa will always remember her dad’s love for a Sunday morning breakfast, and she looks forward to sharing this tradition with her own family one day. Kendra loved any moment where her dad was teaching her about his various hobbies. They specifically loved going on snowmobiling adventures together. Last year, Todd purchased a brand new Skidoo snowmobile and while on a weekend family snowmobile trip, Todd stopped in the middle of the trail and motioned for Kendra to come over. He sat and showed Kendra how to operate the machine first and then, after some instruction, he watched proudly as Kendra sped off on the snowmobile. Kendra will forever be grateful for every teaching moment she had with her dad, and she is excited to share everything she has learned from him with people in years to come. His love for snowmobiling will be carried on by Kendra as she plans to continue enjoying this hobby, someday with her own family. Joshua and Todd were the best of friends and you could always find them working on a project together in the house, outside, or in the garage. On May 15, 2023, they began working on a project that Todd had put on hold for years and one that Joshua will cherish forever. Over the next 5 months, they entirely disassembled a 2005 Ford F-150 and completed a full restoration from the ground up including a powder-coated frame, suspension components, and traction bars. They spent hours together sandblasting parts, rebuilding the motor, painting the body, and reassembling the truck. On October 12, 2023, Joshua and his dad took the truck for its maiden voyage. Joshua will feel his dad’s presence each time he sits in the driver’s seat of the truck and will pass on his father’s love for restoring vehicles to his children one day, just as his dad did with him.

Early in his adult life, Todd was a CNC Machinist at Woodward Governor Company (March 1987 - November 1994) and later at Pointe Precision, Inc. (June 1995 - November 1999). He also worked at Norland Incorporated as the Machine Shop Manager (November 1994 - June 1995). He was employed at Schuette Metals (July 2000 - June 2017), for the first 9 years as the Machine Shop Supervisor and later as the CWF Plant Manager (a Schuette, Inc. company). In June 2017, Todd was offered a position at Americo Chemical Products LLC which was the perfect position for him due to his extensive background in machining, fabrication and powder coating. He was both a field support technician and a sales representative. He built an extensive customer base in Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, and Missouri. His customers were his primary focus and he did whatever he could to ensure the facilities were up and running, even if it meant working on an early Saturday morning. Those at Americo described him not only as their coworker, but more importantly as their friend. He was knowledgeable and helped others in the company in any way that he could. He planned to retire from Americo Chemical Products LLC in the years to come to spend time with his loving wife, Annette, focusing on their hobbies, traveling, and family.

In his spare time, Todd and Annette owned and operated Czerneski’s Four Season Services from October 1996 to October 2002. Todd plowed and shoveled snow for both private parties and area businesses. When it wasn’t snowing, he installed sprinkler systems at homes throughout the area.

Todd always loved to work on cars and trucks. His friends and family called upon him when something went wrong with their cars and he almost always knew what to do to remedy the issue. Besides being his friends’ and family’s mechanic, in 2007 he began to repair and sell cars. He truly enjoyed this hobby and was an excellent bodyman and painter.

There are not enough words to describe how much Todd will be missed by family and friends; however, there are so many ways to remember him. Every time that they go out for a Friday fish fry dinner, drink a glass of cranberry-grape juice, eat a fresh-out-of-the-freezer homemade chocolate chip cookie (without warming it up, of course), mow the grass with perfectly straight lines, cut wood for the winter, tear down the road on an ATV or snowmobile, or hear an unexpected clunk when driving their vehicle, they will be thinking of him. This list could go on forever and it is a testament of how special Todd truly was.

Todd is survived by his wife, Annette Czerneski of 35 years; children, Carissa Czerneski (Trevor Wiese), Wyoming MN, Kendra Czerneski, and Joshua Czerneski; father, Michael (Mary Kay “Cookie”) Czerneski Ironwood MI; siblings, Scott (Kristin) Czerneski Hurley WI, Kirk Liljestrom (Becky Busch) Spooner WI, Jamie (LJ) Czerneski Washington PA, Holly Rasmussen Waunakee WI; nephews Deakin (Cassie) Czerneski, Devin Czerneski, and Sebastian Rasmussen, and nieces Jenna Czerneski (his Goddaughter), Brittany (Jeff) Hunt, and Juel Czerneski amongst other family members. Todd will be greatly missed by his beloved pets, Leia and Nala. Todd was a devoted friend who will be remembered by many lifelong friends including Randy (Conner and Noah) Stroik, Barry Flatoff, Joe Donahue, Chad Kramer, Pete Engelbert, Bob Rowe, Randy Frisch, Bruce Goetsch, and many others. Besides his mother Audrey, Todd was preceded in death by his uncles, David Czerneski, Tony Asunto, and Rodney (Louie) Asunto, his aunt, Kathleen Czerneski (Kusz), and one niece, Ashley Marie Czerneski, who passed at birth, along with his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Chaplain Mark Lewis will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the funeral home.
