Tommy Gonzales Obituary

Tommy was a resident of Gallup all his life. He was a baseball coach for over 50 years. He retired from the City of Gallup and served 15 years at Miyamura high School. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, baseball, woodworking, arts & crafts, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his family- his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a people person, is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Irene Gonzales. Children Tommy Gonzales Jr and Valerie Guillen. Four grandchildren- Anthony Gonzales, Isaac Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, and Caylee Guillen, Three great grandchildren- Ariana Gonzales, Aubri Gonzales and Ezekiel Gonzales. Brothers Ralph Juarez Jr, Augustine Juarez, Frederick Carabajal and Michael Molina. Sisters Linda Caro, Mary Lopez, Sarah Steadman, and Silvia Silva.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Gonzales, brothers James Martinez, Paul Juarez, John and Andy Carabajal.
On Saturday August 09, 2025, a Rosary will be held at St. Francis of Assisi at 10:00AM with a Mass at 10:30AM celebrated by Father David Tate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallup, New Mexico.
Pallbearers include Anthony Gonzales, Isaac Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, Tommy Gonzales Jr., Nate Sellers and Hugo Mayen.
Honorary Pallbearers include Mike Henderson, Glenn Manges, Ed Olguin, Sam Gomez, Marty Alderete, Sean Lewis and Ezekiel Gonzales.
