Tony Bridges Obituary

Tony Bridges, 78, of Palestine, Arkansas was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones in Jonesboro, Arkansas at St. Bernard's Hospital. Tony was born on Wednesday, May 7, 1947, in Palestine, Arkansas to Chester and Lillian Bridges. He would continue to spend his entire life in Palestine and was a staple in the community. He was the brother to 7 brothers and 5 sisters. At the age of 17 Tony married his sweetheart, Faye Weeks, Saturday, August 28, 1965. They would spend the next 60 years building a glorious life together, filled with many laughs, memories, and much love.
From an early age Tony was a hard-working man. He had many jobs from a young boy till he retired, but his love for farming and driving an 18-wheeler were his main careers. He enjoyed spending most of his working years working alongside his son, Anthony Bridges. They owned Bridges Farm Trucking Co. until Tony eventually retired. He then spent the rest of his year enjoying the time with his loving wife and family. Tony was a devout Christian, who always made sure his family, "Looked to Jesus." He was a kind soul that will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
Tony was greeted at the Pearly Gates by both his parents: Lillian and Chester Bridges, 6 brothers; Eugene Bridges of California, Frank Bridges of California, Junior Bridges of Memphis, Bill Bridges of Palestine, Bert Bridges of Palestine, and Ronnie Bridges of Palestine, 3 sisters; Tiny Roberts of California, Linda Reeves of Oklahoma, Patrecia (Sissy) Bridges of Palestine, 1 son; Anthony Bridges of Palestine, and 2 granddaughters; Ashley (Sorrels) Harbin of Palestine, and Angela Hill of Greers Ferry.
Tony leaves behind his beloved wife; Faye Bridges of Palestine, two daughters; Charlotte Gibson (Larry) of Palestine, and Jenay Stovall (Keith) of Mansfield, Arkansas, 9 grandchildren,17 great- grandchildren, 2 sisters, Billie Jean of Oklahoma, Helen of Wynne, 1 brother; Granvel of Palestine, and a multitude of other family and friends.
Services will be held Graveside, 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, at the Bell Cemetery in Palestine. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:30 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
