Tonya Sue (Thomas) Thorpe, 83, a longtime Afton resident, passed away at her home on Monday, June 16, 2025. Tonya was born on January 18, 1942, in Miami to Erwin "Lefty" and Naomi Ann (Lemaster) Thomas. Tonya graduated with the class of 1961 from Miami High School. After her children grew up she worked at Alf's Manufacturing and then Buffalo Ranch for a short time until her husband Donald J. Thorpe retired and took a job painting water towers. Mrs. Thorpe was preceded in passing by her husband Donald Thorpe, her parents Lefty and Naomi Thomas, her brothers Larry Thomas, Danny Thomas and Jimmy Thomas along with her sister-in-law Sally Thomas.
Survivors include her children Troy Thorpe and his wife Lisa of Fairland, Traci Tanner and her husband Cliff of Jay, her grandchildren Taylor Deubler and her husband Korey, Trevor Shankles, Dr. Kayla Schapp and her husband Josh, Callie Kerr and her husband Dusty, her great-grandchildren Sirenity Tanner, Talin Tanner, Tyler Deubler and Draven Kerr.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton.
