Traci Leann Carnes, 40, of Pageland, SC passed away on October 5, 2025 at her home. She was born on January 28, 1985 in Cheraw, South Carolina.
Traci grew up in a close-knit family. Though her father, Bobby Alex Carnes, preceded her in death, his influence on her life remained evident. She was also lovingly embraced by her extended family, including her aunt, Marilyn Taylor, uncle, Byron Taylor, and grandparents, Howard "Mutt" Plyler, Ideuma Plyler, Alex and Nell Carnes, all of whom had passed before her.
She leaves behind her devoted mother, Rowan Carnes of Pageland, SC, who instilled in her the virtues of kindness and resilience. Traci's legacy continues through her adoring children, Makenzie Leann Carnes of Jefferson, SC and Alexander Carnes of Pageland, SC. Her siblings, Travis Alex Carnes (Kim) of Elizabethton, TN, Ashley Lowery of Jefferson, SC and Justin Balderas of Blacksburg, SC, will forever cherish the memories of their sister's unwavering support and joyful presence. Traci's life was further enriched by her special friend, Joey Cody of Monroe, NC, and her beloved nieces and nephew, Kiersten Carnes of Concord, NC, Shirley Waycaster of Elizabethton, TN, and Trevor Waycaster (Macy) of Roan Mountain, TN, along with her great-niece, Lottie, who all brought immense joy and laughter into her life.
Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of all who knew her. A talented cook and baker, she found joy in creating culinary delights for her family and friends, turning every meal into a celebration of togetherness. Her love for haunted houses was a cherished tradition she shared with her daughter, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Music and singing were Traci's soul's expressions. Her love for animals was profound, and she approached every creature with the same compassion and warmth she offered to people. Traci's collection of perfumes was a testament to her appreciation for the beautiful things in life, and her daily walks were moments of reflection and connection with nature.
Traci's ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone was a hallmark of her friendly demeanor. She was a friend to many and a stranger to none, always leaving a lasting impression with her loving spirit.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Baumgartner Funeral Home in Pageland, SC.
There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor David Bridwell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Baptist Church, C/O Library Fund, 232 Providence Church Road, Pageland, SC 29728.
Arrangements are entrusted to Baumgartner Funeral Home (www.baumgartnerfh.com) of Pageland, South Carolina.
