Tracy Applegate Obituary

Tracy Yvonne Applegate, age 54, of Tollesboro, Kentucky, left us Friday, July 11, 2025, at University of Louisville Jewish Hospital, in Louisville, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and strength.
She was born Sunday, November 8, 1970, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of Gary Ronald Applegate of Tollesboro, Kentucky and Sue Hamilton Applegate of Maysville, Kentucky.
Tracy was the heart of our family, a guiding light who nurtured, supported and believed in us and inspired those around her. She loved her music, thrift shopping, traveling and reading books, but her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys and her love for them, knew no limits. As a companion, she was loyal and loving, as a friend, always generous and dependable. Tracy was a loving mother, step-mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend.
She brought warmth and encouragement into every room. Her compassion, wisdom and steady presence will be missed beyond words.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gregory Applegate.
Tracy is survived by her companion of 33 years, Gordon Ruggles; three sons, Jonathan Ruggles, Dylan Ruggles, Jace Ruggles, all of Tollesboro, Kentucky; two daughters, Andrea Lykins of Tollesboro, Kentucky, Alexis (Evan) Osborne of Garrison, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren, Gage Lykins, Londyn Lykins, Harper Osborne; five brothers, Ronnie Applegate, Joey Applegate, Curtis Applegate, Jordan Applegate, Gary Applegate all of Tollesboro, Kentucky; one sister, Amanda Fugate of Fleming County, Kentucky, and countless others who were lucky to know her. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 Ky 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky, with Brother Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Tollesboro.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Westin Applegate, Collin Applegate, Jordan Applegate, Curtis Applegate, Zane Ruggles, Josh Darlington, Bub Ruggles will serve as pallbearers.

Happy Hollow Church will be serving a dinner for the family immediately following the service. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
