Truman Arthur Hildreth was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on March 20,1939 to the late Curtis and Doyline Walston Hildreth. Truman accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1957. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal College (AM&N) currently known as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Later, he received a Master's Degree in Mathematics. While attending Arkansas AM&N, he joined Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. in 1959. At the time of his death, Truman was a member of the Kappa Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Truman was a staunch educator and dedicated his life to teaching for more than 40 years. His career as a teacher began in 1962 in Texarkana, AR. and Magnolia AR., where he taught math and science. He left Arkansas and taught in Gary Indiana prior to moving to Rockford, Illinois, where he served as a math teacher for over 25 years before retiring. After retirement, Truman returned home to Magnolia, AR. and worked for several years as a teacher at Walker School District. During his free time, Truman enjoyed fishing, canning, playing dominoes, cooking, gardening, and community service work. Truman also enjoyed traveling to family reunions and was given the title of the family historian. Truman was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Barbara Palmer Hildreth), brother (Earl Hildreth) and sister (Anner Vivian Hildreth Barnes). His memory will be cherished by his three brothers, James (Minnie Bell) Hildreth of Magnolia, AR, Curtis (Mary Joyce) Hildreth, Jr. of Rockford, IL, Louis (Leslie) Hildreth of Lancaster, TX and two sisters; Vennie Murl Williams of Dallas, TX and Arlene (Izer) Billings of Stafford, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
