Truman Edgar Smith, Jr., (Toot) was born in Bolivar, Tennessee, on October 4, 1975. He was the son of Truman E. Smith, Sr., and Teressa Jean Smith.
He departed this life, surrounded by his family, at his home on July 13, 2025, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was 49 years old.
Toot loved fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and mudding. His greatest love was his family. He was the best son, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed grilling and his burgers were the best.
He is survived by his mother: Teressa Smith; his wife: Shannon Smith; his children: Ashley Smith (Austin), Zacherey Woods, Dana Tomlinson (Michael), Stacy Thompson, Jr. (Kelsey), and Rena Schrimsher (Johnathan); grandchildren: Bubby, Sissy, Chelsea, Mo Mo, EM, Jax, Chicken Little, Eve, Row Row, and Hudson; two sisters: Tammy Smith & Rita Middleton; several nephews, nieces, and other family members; a special friend: Jamie Cagle; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father - Truman E. Smith, Sr., and two brothers – Timmy Smith & Truman Lee Smith.
Serving as honorary pallbearers: Barry Brown, Frankie Quertermous, Bryan McClendon, Steven Brown, Lee Hawks, Chris Phelps, Dustin Price, Chris Flippo.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials please be given to the family to help with financial needs.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
