Una Blanche McKenzie, a cherished educator and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on May 1, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, Una dedicated her life to the noble craft of teaching, inspiring countless students with her passion for learning and commitment to education.
A proud graduate with a Master's Degree, Una's influence extended far beyond the classroom walls. She was a guiding light to her students and an unwavering source of support to her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Una's remarkable life during her funeral service, which will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel, with a Family Hour starting at 8:30 AM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
As we gather to honor Una's legacy, we reflect on the profound impact she made throughout her life, and we hold her memory close, carrying forth her spirit of kindness and inspiration.
