With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Urszula Szczeniak, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and passionate educator, who left this world peacefully on June 27th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Poland in 1954, Urszula grew up deeply connected to the natural world, finding joy and purpose in the Polish Girl Scouts, where her love of nature and community first took root. This early experience shaped a lifelong spirit of curiosity, resilience, and service to others.
Urszula's passion for education knew no borders. She began her career in Poland, where she inspired generations of students with her dedication and warmth. Later, she brought that same commitment to the United States, continuing her work as an educator while also building a new life with courage and grace. No matter where she was, Urszula led with kindness, always believing in the transformative power of knowledge and compassion.
Her heart never left Poland-its language, culture, and landscapes were woven into her soul-but Urszula made profound sacrifices for those she loved. She built a life across oceans, driven by a fierce devotion to her family, especially her beloved son, Michael, and her husband, Stefan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and unwavering support.
To her family and countless friends, Urszula was a constant source of wisdom, warmth, and unconditional love. She gave selflessly, listened deeply, and embraced all who knew her with open arms and a tender heart.
Urszula's legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the values she embodied, and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit-grounded in nature, learning, and love-will remain forever in our hearts.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, with a service beginning at 2:00pm, at the Lehrer Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Avenue in Rahway, NJ.
