Valerie Grisco Obituary
Visitation for Valerie Ann Grisco, 51, of Rolling Meadows, will be on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL. The Interment will be private.
Valerie was born on February 12, 1974, to the late George and Patricia Grisco. She passed away on June 30, 2025.
Valerie was a joy to everyone she met. Her smile was contagious and warmed everyone's hearts. She was born with Down Syndrome, but that didn't stop her! Valerie was stubborn but loved school, dancing, music, Backstreet Boys, NKOTB, General Hospital and most of all, her family. She attended Clearbrook in Rolling Meadows, starting at 3 months old and received speech, occupational and physical therapies. Then she started at Kirk School in Palatine, but then was able to attend self-contained classrooms in District 15 from 1st grade through Jr. High School. She attended Palatine High School and eventually attended the day program at Countryside Little City for many years, which she loved! Valerie had many friends, even two boyfriends! Everyone knew Valerie! When she would go to Brandt's every night with dad, she would approach every table and introduce herself as "the Owner!" So Valerie!!
She moved into the Wilke home in 2022 after our father passed and was so loved there and so well taken care of. As she began to decline, she moved into another Clearbrook facility, the Commons. Even for the short time she was there, they did everything they could for her. All the wonderful people we have met through Clearbrook are now part of our family too!
Valerie's love for life and family was so apparent. She has touched so many people in so many ways and will be missed by so many!
Valerie was the loving sister of Karen (Tony) Aprile, Joanne (Craig) Wallace, Georgine (Jon) Konuk; cherished aunt of Dominic, Anthony, Cassie, Justin, Andrew and Tristan; loving cousin of Ken Baldree and many other cousins and aunts.
