Mrs. Valerie "Jill" J. Malich, of Woodlawn, IL departed this life at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:48 P.M. She had attained the age of 79 years, 3 months and 22 days.
Mrs. Malich was born on January 2, 1946, in Hinsdale, IL, the daughter of Donald and Wanda (Westling) Barnacle. She was united in marriage to Dennis Malich on May 2, 1970, in Downers Grove, IL and he survives her passing.
Jill was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She had a passion for flowers and enjoyed working in her garden.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Dennis Malich of Woodlawn, IL; 2 sons, Matthew (Kimberlee) Malich of Woodlawn, IL and Nicholas Malich of Yelm, Washington; 5 grandchildren, Trinity, Gavin, Nevaeh, John Roy and LeeAnn; 1 great grandchild, Bjorn; 5 siblings, John (Tina) Barnacle of Oswego, IL, Donald (Karen) Barnacle of Westmont, IL, Janine Zalski of Downers Grove, Il, Jim (Gale) Barnacle of Wheaton, IL and Ronald Barnacle of Palm Springs, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Baker.
Per the wishes of Jill and her family, cremation will be performed and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday, May 9th, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 7 P.M.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
