Vance May passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on September 2, 2025. A devoted husband, father, and dedicated firefighter for over 20 years, Vance lived a life defined by service, love, and family. Vance is survived by his sons, Alec and Ian; wife, Sherrill; brothers-in-law, George and Guy; sisters-in-law, Melissa and Kim; nieces-in-law, Sydney and Katilyn; and nephew-in-law, Grayson.

He has now rejoined with his daughter, Ashley; along with his parents, Arthur and Eileen.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 16, 1960, Vance committed himself to protecting and serving his community, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and neighbors alike. His unwavering dedication to firefighting reflected his selflessness and courage, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life.

Above all, Vance was a family man. He cherished spending time with his children and treasured evenings watching movies and television shows with his beloved wife. His presence brought warmth and laughter into every room, and his love for his family was evident in all that he did. Vance enjoyed conversing with his family and friends here and there; some conversations lasted hours and hours. Vance also loved spending time with his favorite dog, Odin, who misses him greatly. Those two were inseparable from each other.

Vance’s legacy will endure in the countless lives he touched-through his service, his kindness, and his steadfast devotion to those he loved most.

Services will be held at Randall and Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, Indiana, 46062, on September 5, 2025, with family and friends invited to celebrate and honor his life. The showing is from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., with the services from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
