Vera Elisa (Reinbold) Talaski, aged 97, of Reese, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth. Born on September 28, 1927, in Gilford TWP, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Cora (Colpean) Ahrens.
Vera spent her formative years in Gilford Twp, where she cultivated a strong work ethic and a love for life. On November 24, 1945, she married Robert John Reinbold, and together they lovingly raised three children. Vera's role as a homemaker was complemented by her work on the family farm, where she partnered with Robert in running the farm. Not one to sit idle, Vera drove beet trucks for over 30 years and took pride in raising chickens. After her husband's passing on August 17, 1983, Vera continued to demonstrate her resilience and dedication to her family's legacy.
Her early years were devoted to taking care of her family. Her life was also filled with dancing, engaging crafts, and fishing that reflected her appreciation for life's simple joys. Vera's capacity for love led her to marry Julius Talaski on December 3, 1988, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Their union was marked by shared happiness, as they enjoyed wintering in Florida and playing cards with friends.
Vera's spirit earned her the affectionate title of "social director" among her family and friends. She was an integral part of her senior citizen group and served on the election board for Denmark Twp and in Lincoln Township. A devout and active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar, Vera's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her involvement in volunteering and church activities allowed her to forge lasting friendships. Vera's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched
Family was the heart of Vera's world. Her children, Virginia Myers of Burt, Robert (Marlene) Reinbold of Reese, and Dennis (Mary) Reinbold of Reese, were the pride of her life, along with her seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Vera's love extended to her stepchildren, Charlie (Harriet) Talaski, Edward (Amy) Talaski, Deborah (Les) Booms, Jan McGarry, Carol (Duane) Koroleski, and Teresa Kozlowski, as well as many nieces, nephews, and her God children and her special friend, Alice Sadro. In addition to Robert, Julius, and her parents Vera was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle (Henry) Nickel, brother, Carl (Emily) Krause and son-in-law James Myers.
Funeral services to celebrate Vera's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 916 W Huron Ave, Vassar, with Pastor Matthew Arnold officiating. Her final resting place will be at Blumfield Township Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar.
