Victoria Brown Obituary

Victoria Ann Brown, age 83, passed away on Monday, May 05, 2025 at her home in Halifax, NC.
Victoria, who like to be called Vicky, was born in Bayonne, NJ. She was a teacher for many years in the Sayreville, NJ school district, before becoming a learning consultant with the Sayreville Child Study Team.
An avid dog lover, Vicky trained and showed dogs, and instructed classes, before becoming an AKC obedience dog show judge. In her career, she put title on may dogs, mostly her beloved German Shepherds, and a Cairn, but also two Golden Retrievers given to her by her good friend, Virginia Boyle. She exhibited in many dog sports, including obedience, rally, agility, tracking, sheepherding, coursing and barn hunt. She was proud to have had several therapy dogs that she took to nursing homes. She belonged to several dog show clubs: Bayshore Companion Club and Lenape Tracking Club in NJ, Durham Kennel Club in NC, and The German Shepherd Dog Club of America. Vicky also worked in dog and cat rescue. She fostered and transported for several different organizations.
Vicky's other passion was gardening and she was a Master Gardener with Roanoke Valley Master Gardeners in Halifax County.
She is survived by many friends and colleagues in the dog show community, wonderful friends and neighbors in NC and her friend, Edith Braginton.
Per Vicky's wishes no services will be held.
