It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Viola Marie Becker, who departed this life at the age of 100. Viola resided at Bristol Glen Community in Newton, NJ and was formerly of Butler. A devout Catholic and a cherished longtime member of St. Anthony’s Parish, Viola now joins her beloved husband, Harry, as well as her granddaughters, Dana and Michelle.
Viola is survived by her devoted children, Phillip, Edward, and Carol. She will be lovingly remembered by her wonderful grandchildren, Anthony, Kelli, John, and Ava, along with her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Amelia, Jackie, Katie, Kyler, and Jamin.
While raising her family in Butler, Viola found joy in working in the school cafeteria, providing meals that nurtured the community's children. She also treasured the moments spent traveling with Harry, exploring destinations such as New England and the Jersey Shore, and enjoying cruises together.
Known for her compassion, kindness, and outgoing personality, Viola brought joy through her clever sense of humor and her famous award-winning Crumb Cake, which delighted many.
Visitation will be held at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler on December 16th from 9:00am-11:00am, followed by an 11:30am Mass at St. Anthony Church, 65 Bartholdi Ave, Butler and Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, NJ.
Viola's spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
