Violet was born on September 7, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Melvin and Charlotte (nee Gosby) Hoisington. She graduated from L'Anse Creuse North and worked as a seamstress for Ford Motor Company for many years before retiring in 2002. Violet married Gregory Sikkelee in 1978 and they shared 31 wonderful years together before his passing in 2009. Violet and Greg built their dream family cabin in Sugar Springs so that their family will always have a place to go visit. They traveled all over the United States and would spend hours playing Scrabble together. After retiring, Violet worked with silk flowers and enjoyed making arrangements for events. Violet loved spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed.
Violet is survived by her children, Melinda (Shayne) Raulston, Kevin (Kimberly) Bumbalough and Cynthia Britton; proud Grandma Vi to eleven grandchildren; Great-Grandma Vi to three; and sister to Sharon Cole and Yonda Cicchetti and late Virginia Kimmell. Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Gregory and son, Gregory Sikkelee, Jr.
Visitation for Violet will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb and Monday, March 10, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.

I am so grateful for the wonderful memories made with Vi over the past 50 years, for the beautiful life that she built with Greg and the wonderful daughter-in-law she was to Gram and Gramps. I cherish the wonderful family memories Greg and Vi created for all of us over the many summers spent at their beautiful cabin. There is joy in knowing that she and Greg are reunited, and that so many loved ones wait to welcome her.
