Virginia Lorene Brown Coulter, age 87, of Long Run Road, Springfield, KY passed away at 6:52 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Ruth.
A native of Nelson County, she was born on May 19, 1938 to the late Edgar and Mary Ethel Goff Brown.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and a retired employee of Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin Coulter, Jr. on September 3, 2021; two sisters, Irene Richardson and Pauline Downs and five brothers, Rufus, Herbert, Wallace, Leroy and Bill Brown.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Coulter of Springfield and Stanley Coulter (Cheryl) of Danville; two daughters, Ruth Smith (Jim) and Karen Newsome (Ronnie) of Springfield; five grandchildren, Brad Coulter (Heather), Brandon Coulter (Sara), Kim Lane (Steve), Heather Barr (Jeremy) and Brittany Short (Stuart); two step grandchildren, Brandon Hogue and Vanessa Hogue; ten great grandchildren, Aubrey, Addison, Aiden, Sawyer and Kase Coulter, Gabe and Gavin Hall, Jetson Barr, Memphis and Asher Short and three step great grandchildren, Sydney Hogue, Cymry Prewitt and Ryder Neikirk.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, July 7th at the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. J.W. Hatfield and Rev. Aaron Grabanski.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Coulter, Brandon Coulter, Brittany Short, Heather Barr, Kim Lane and Gabe Hall.
Visitation will be at the Temple Baptist Church from 4 until 8 Sunday and after 8:00 Monday morning.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
