Virginia “Ginny” Erickson, 83, of Highland, IL, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL.
She was born on November 15, 1941, in Morehouse, MO, to Willie Leck and Maddie (nee Bozemond) Northington. On September 9, 1961, Ginny married Don Erickson in Belleville, IL.
Ginny was a great mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was very family oriented, loving, and kind. Ginny was an extremely hard worker and was always concerned about her family. She enjoyed going to auctions and home sales. Ginny was a world traveler, visiting all over Europe and every state in the contiguous U.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Maddie Northington; sisters, Doris Kirk, Maria Treadway, and Maureen Emmens.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Don Erickson, Highland, IL; son, Scot (Jessica) Erickson, Mascoutah, IL; grandchildren, Andrea and Julie-Anne; sister, Carol (Jerry) Forte, Collinsville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project. Floral arrangements are also accepted.
Visitation: Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
Service: Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
