Virginia "Nonny" Galloway, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at her home.
Born October 14, 1940, in Hendersonville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Cantrell and Isabel McAbee Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Regina "Gina" Gentry; brothers, Charles "Bud" Cantrell, Marion Cantrell; and sisters, Kathryn Ferguson and Mary Ellen Abril.
Nonny was truly a special lady who loved her family. She embraced the name of "Nonny" by showing love and concern to everyone around her. She was the biggest fan of her granddaughters and their sports activities always cheering them on. A kind and funny lady with spunk who always had a taste and eye for the classy and finer things in life. She was an amazing cook and everyone who met her loved her. Nonny will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Campbell (Scott); grandchildren, Sydni Meredith (Dillon), Kelsey Campbell and Carli Campbell and a great grandchild, Hadlee Meredith.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Sustar officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Christian School Athletic Department, 304 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
