Virginia W. Pace, 92, of Carthage, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2025. Born on March 18, 1933, in Gary, Texas, she was one of thirteen children of Dudley and Myrtis Melinda Nolan Williams. Virginia was a devoted grandmother, sister and friend whose warmth and kindness was felt by all who encountered her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Pace, son Mike Massey, brothers Billy, Pete and Bud Williams, sisters: Dora Pendley, Dorthy Griffith, Trudy Kelley, Sue Kilpatrick, Mellie Joslin, and Jane Morris. A proud East Texan, Virginia enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an avid bridge player, loved crocheting, reading, and cooking. Many memories were made at Lake Murval, where she enjoyed fishing and gathering with loved ones. In her later years she took great pride in schooling her great-grandsons at gin rummy, always with a smile and a feisty competitive spirit. She is survived by granddaughter Sandy Calapan and husband Alex of Friendswood, step daughters Virginia Lyle of Midland and Becky Parce of Padre Island, daughter in love, Laverne Copeland of Delray, sisters: JoAnn Morris and husband Bobby of Tyler, Cynthia Wray of Lindale, Jean Johns of Tyler, sister in laws, Bonnie Williams of Tyler and Shirley Williams of Carthage. Great grandsons Nicholas and Jonathan Calapan of Friendswood. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews extended family, and cherished friends. Affectionately known as "GG," "Grandmother," and "Aunt Jenny", Virginia leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love that will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Charity or Church of your choosing. A special thanks to Angel Hands Hospice, UT Tyler Hospital and UT Tyler Rehab Center. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025 in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Williams officiating.
