Virginia (Ginger) Gail Salway passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 28, 2025, at her home in Villisca, IA. She was born on September 2, 1961, in Wichita, KS. She lived most of her adult life in Villisca.
Ginger left school in her senior year before graduation 1980, but she did get her GED later in life. She also graduated from IWCC with an associate's degree. She worked as a CNA at Good Sam in Villisca, Amana Corp. in Corning And Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda.
If you knew Ginger you knew the love she had for others, she would have given you her last dollar or the shirt of her back if you needed it. She had a heart as big as the universe. She had a love for animals she had been that way since she was a child. If there was a stray cat hanging around, she fed it, if you had a cat that needed a home, she would take it in. She always wanted to open up a home for all the animals that didn't have a home.
She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth & Ruth Walker, husband Jeff Salway, sister Janeen Trujillo; stepbrother Roger Meyer and mother-in-law Evelyn Salway.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Kevin (Faye) Sprague of Colorado Springs, CO., brother Kenny (Spud) (Deb Givens) Walker, New Market, IA., sister Carol (Donnie) Ward of Clarinda and sister Connie (Jim) Cole of New Market, IA., step-daughters, Jessica (Jeff) Calhoon and Tasha Salway, along with several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many other family and friends and especially her dog Skippy and cat Lowky.
She will be missed by many, but know she is having the time of her heavenly life reunited with her loved ones that have passed before her and all the cats in heaven.
