Born February 12, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Kenneth Elmer and Lois Mildred Stephens Williams, Ginny was a life-long resident of this area. She was a 1960 graduate of Richmond High School. Ginny retired from Belden with over 20 years of service. Her family was her priority, and her children remember that she guided them with a firm yet loving hand.
Survivors include her children, J. Michael (Sue) Whirley, Kelley (Jim Weatherly) Harkleroad, Jay (Julia) Whirley, and Kim (Duane) Conley; grandchildren, Jerome (Erin) Tapp, Misty Canan, Rhett Harkleroad, Nick (Shelby) Crouse, Autumn (Cody) Stewart, Mark (Jennifer) Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Katie, Nate, Macie, Juliet, Meadow, Tucker, Melody, and Junie; sister, Carol (Steve) Hershberger; special sister-in-law, Nancy Whirley; special brother-in-law, Gary (Cathy) Whirley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, to whom she was married on June 3, 1961, James Robert Whirley on October 26, 2007; parents; granddaughter, Christine R. Ford; siblings, Jean Drew, Robert Williams, Vera Sutphin, Norman Williams, Gordon "Dutch" Williams, Marlene Puthoff, Judy Rhodus, Kay Long, and Kenneth C. Williams; brother-in-law, Joseph Whirley; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Bill) Gray and Becky (Tom) Davis.
Visitation for Virginia "Ginny" Mildred Whirley will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Westville Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.
