WAFFARD HOPPER
Jacks Creek, TN: Waffard Dee Hopper age 87, passed away July 6, 2025, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1938, in Chester County, the son of the late Luther Cornelius and Pauline Young Hopper. He attended schools in the Pine Spring Community.
He was Pentecostal in belief.
Waffard was strong-willed and was just as strong in his work ethic.
He began farming as a young man, became a timber cutter, and he also ran a backhoe for C & C Plumbing for about six years. He built cedar benches, chairs, swings, and cut firewood for sale.
He was an avid deer hunter.
Mr. Hopper is survived by, a son, Hank D. Hopper of Henderson, two grandchildren, Dillon Hopper and Caylie Hopper; two brothers, Rocky Hopper (Carol), and Jimmy Hopper all of Henderson; four sisters, Linda Chandler (Allen) of Finger, Bessie Stanfill (Richard) of Scotts Hill, Betty Fesmire (Ray) of McKenzie, and Sylvia Mooney (Roy Gene) of Covington; and close friend, Michael Rhodes (Sherry) of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers, Tommy Hopper, R.C. Hopper, Charles Ray Hopper, Timmy Hopper, Eugene Hopper and William Hopper.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 11th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Michael Rickenbaker officiating. Burial will follow at Cabo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday.
