Walter Allen Fields, 71, of Melbourne Ky. went to heaven on Sunday, May 18. 2025 at his home. Walter had strength and sure will like no other. He overcame so many health challenges throughout his life, including beating colon cancer in 2005. Unfortunately, he had to fight that hard battle again. Until Jesus called him home.
He will always be remembered for the love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his love for classic cars, fried chicken and mowing grass. He got a huge kick out of giving each one of the grand and great grandkids a nick name along with aggravating them in a playful way.
Walter was very proud of his 1984, Z28 Camaro. He really enjoyed taking his Camaro to many car
shows and looking at all the classic cars, talking with friends and winning many trophies. He also enjoyed
going on trips with his wife and close friends. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Cemetery. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents who raised him, William and Christina Guy. Along with his daughter, Valerie Sauser and two granddaughters, Madison and Hailey Sauser.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 50 yrs, Linda (Buckler) Fields, two daughters, April (Mike) Finkler and Heather Fields; son in law, Matthew Sauser; two sisters, Rita Kendall and Brenda Fields; grandchildren: Ryan Combs, Kayla (Sean) Layne, Alexis (Michael) Wagel, Lucas Dean and Justin Theademan; great-grandchildren: Kyleigh, Savannah, Addelyn and Mason Layne; Rylee and Peyton Combs and Ezra Driskell; best friend/brother, Terry (Tenna) Hardwick and uncle/brother, Art (Linda) Guy; along with nieces, cousins and many more family members.
Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington St, Alexandria, KY 41001 on Friday, May 23, 2025, 11:00 am-1pm with the Funeral Service immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Michelle Nelson officiating.
