His Legacy Walter Early Short, 77, passed away July 3, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to William Short and Dorothy (Parks) Short. He graduated from Western High School in Detroit, in 1966. Walter married the love of his life, Ellen DeFrank, on July 6, 1968, at Holy Redeemer Church, in Detroit, Michigan. Walter was a Corporal 1st class Marine and was extremely patriotic, he loved his country. Walter enjoyed shooting, boating, fishing and cars. He was a hopeless romantic, happy go lucky and very funny. Walter adored his family and would do anything for them. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
