Lois Forsyth Obituary

Lois Lane Forsyth
August 16, 1928 - February 23, 2024
Lois Lane Forsyth died February 23, 2024, after living a wonderful 95 years.
She was born Lilly Lois Elizabeth Lane on August 16th, 1928, in San Antonio, Texas.
After graduating from Fox Tech Vocational High School, she spent many years working for the U.S. Civil Service. In the early 1950s, her husband's Army career moved their young family to various U.S. duty stations. In 1956, the Army stationed Lois and her family in Bad Tölz, Germany. This location opened a whole new world of sightseeing opportunities, allowing her to visit greater Europe, sparking a lifelong passion for travel.
Upon her return from Germany, Lois began a long, rewarding career with Trinity University in San Antonio. Beginning as a secretary, she spent over 30 years working across multiple departments, ascending to the administrator level. Her retirement in 1997 afforded her the opportunity to indulge her love of travel, spanning multiple countries with her family and friends.
Later in her life, Lois was a proud member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. Lois was an avid gardener, with a green thumb that nurtured several species of flowers, bushes and vines around her home. She was also a fervent movie watcher, accompanying her dear friends to countless premieres and showings.
Lois is survived by her children Sharon Matthey and husband William, Robert Forsyth and wife
Rhonda, Evelyn Herrera and husband Tom, Charlotte Forsyth-Perez and husband Noe, and
Lanette Forsyth; grandchildren Michael, Bryan, Scott, Sherri, Sean, Frank, Cory, Shelly, Stacy,
Jennifer, Jordan and Allison, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Jeanette Bayonne and brother William Smith. She is preceded in death by her mother Josephine Sarrau, father William Alfred Lane, grandson Kyle Forsyth and brother Raymond Lane.
A visitation will take place at Mission Parks Funeral Chapel North, Thursday February 29 6 PM – 8 PM. Funeral service will take place at Mission Parks North, Friday, March 1, 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Special thanks are given to Embrace Hospice & Home Health in Kerrville for their care of Lois during her final months.
