Wanda Rae Sandhagen, 80, of Atkins, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born on October 22, 1944, in Oelwein, the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Lamphere) Sargent. Wanda was raised in the Strawberry Point area and attended the Strawberry Point Schools.
On July 21, 1962, Wanda was united in marriage to Bruce Sandhagen in Guttenberg. Four children were born to this union. Wanda was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and cooking. She liked attending family reunions and garage sales. Wanda also enjoyed going to the races. Above all else, Wanda loved her family and cherished spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bruce Sandhagen of Atkins; her four children, Monica Buser of Tiffin, Amy (Mike) Kubas of Williamsburg, Sarah Rowe of Coralville, and Matt (Trina) Sandhagen of Keystone; six grandchildren, Bradley Buser, Erin Wallace, Lance Sandhagen, Caleb Kubas, Logan Kubas, and Megan Sandhagen; one brother, Dave (Janet) Sargent of Alburnett; one sister, Sharon Alderson of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marcella (Wayne) Sly; brother-in-law, Ronald Alderson; nephew, Greg Alderson; and son-in-law, Justin Rowe.
