Wanda Sue Shook, 72, of Osgood passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home. She was born in Batesville on July 7, 1952, the daughter of Roscoe and Virginia Schonfeld Shook. Survivors include two sisters Libby (Jeff) Updike of Clermont, Florida and Donna (Steve) Shade of Denton, North Carolina; nieces and nephews Tera Beverly and Kimberely Updike of Kokomo, Adam Shade of Denton, North Carolina, and William Shade of High Point, North Carolina, and great-nephew Landon Sweatt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Barry Beverly, Jr. Ms. Shook was a 1971 graduate of South Ripley High School and during high school she studied cosmetology at the Southeastern Career Center. She spent her working career as a beautician, doing hair in Freda Hensley and Eileen King's shops in Osgood. She then established Wanda's Beauty Salon in Osgood which she operated for over 30 years. Wanda enjoyed doing crafts, tending to her flowers, and was a wonderful baker. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will follow in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
