Airy, NC surrounded by his daughter. Born on October 29, 1949, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Joseph Richard Cobbler and Mildred Coleman Cobbler. Doug built a life defined by hard work, deep family ties, and a joyful devotion to bluegrass music. He was the co-owner of Cobbler Brothers Logging, a sawmill and logging company he ran proudly with his brother, Larry. He was never happier than when he was out looking at timber or working alongside family. Nothing put a smile on his face like his granddaughter calling him "Pap".
