Wendell Monroe Obituary

Mr. Wendell Monroe, age 83 of Clifty, passed away 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Services will be Saturday October 18, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Rodney Skipworth and Mr. Adam Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty, KY. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home. Mr. Wendell was born in Allegre, KY June 17, 1942. He was retired from Super Value as a Mechanic in the Truck Shop. He was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church, a Board Member of the Todd County Game and Fish Club for over 30 years and a member of the Todd County Coon Hunters Club. He is preceded in death by his parents Calvin Monroe and Agnes Isabelle Winders Monroe his brothers J.C. Monroe and Matthew Monroe, his sister Ann Thornsberry, his twin Great Grandchildren Conner and Kinley McGehee.

He is survived by his wife Carlene Monroe of Clifty, his sons Darrel Wendel Monroe and his wife Lisa Page of Russellville, KY, and Marty Monroe of Russellville, KY, his daughter Gayla Monroe Mansfield and her husband Alan of Clifty, KY, his brothers Virgil Monroe of Harrodsburg, KY and Alvis Monroe of Allegre, KY, his 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
