Wendell Philpot Obituary

Funeral services for Wendell Curtis Philpot, 91, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2025, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Paul Campbell officiating, with interment in Simcoe Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm before the service. Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. Mr. Philpot was born on March 26, 1934, to D. R. and Bernice Jones Philpot. Wendell was a supervisor at King Edward Cigar Plant and proudly carried on friendships he made there. He loved his grandchildren and everyone loved Pop. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dovie, sister, Wilma E. Edmonds; brother, Charles L. Philpot; daughter, Carolyn Stewart. Survivors include his daughter, Sabrina (Chris) Ryan; grandchildren, Justin (Kaitlyn) Ryan, Daniel Ryan, Selena Derrick, Jamie Derrick, Paul (Christie) Derrick; five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
