Willam Heggie Obituary

William J Heggie, better known as Jack, left this world Saturday morning, July 5, 2025, while at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
He was born in Richmond, California on May 11, 1954, to Harlan and Gereldine Heggie. Following his father's unexpected death, the family moved to Omak. A 1972 graduate of Omak High School, Jack worked as a USFS employee, for his brother Bobbie at Omak's Union 76 service station, as a beer truck driver, as a card dealer, and as an owner/operator of Auto Fresh Detail in Omak along with his wife.
As a retiree, he enjoyed restoring cars in his own garage, most notably a pair of '67 Chevy Camaros, a mid '60s Chevrolet wagon, and various classic Chevy pickups. He travelled to as many car shows as he could, even as late as June of this year, in spite of suffering from small cell lung cancer. He was proud to be a member of the North Country Car Club. A procession of their cars will follow the hearse from the funeral home to the cemetery for the graveside service.
Many summer weekends, even just after returning home from a car show, he spent with family and friends at a cabin above Lost Lake that he, Laura, and many others had worked on, beginning in the early 2000's. July always had him picking huckleberries on the mountainside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Gereldine, his grandparents, Cleo and Cecil Wilson and Bill and Elva Heggie, as well as his brother Bobbie, he is survived by his wife, Laura, his sister, Tammy Myers Dunckel (Phillip), and his brother Dan Myers (Tracy).
As well, he is survived by his son, Monte Heggie (Paige), his daughters, Kristen Elsberg, Lynell Anderson, and Candice Smith (Brandon), and his grandchildren, Kaylene, Alex, Brantley, Tiffany, Bailey and Nathaniel. Great-grandchildren are Sunny, Mitchell, Breezy, Lukas, and Stormy. He was survived by many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
His brothers-in-law, Chris, Glenn and Pete Cohoon as well as sister-in-law Lisa Stosch held a special place in his heart. He was always happy to see his good friends from the Omak Class of '72.
We will miss him.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July 11th 2025 at the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens in Okanogan, WA. A reception is being held at the Omak Elks after the service.
