William A. Beason, Sr. (Bill), age 85, originally of Hulbert, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home in Conway, Arkansas on July 13, 2025. He was born August 12, 1939, in Dallas, Texas to the late Thomas and Mary Beason.
Mr. Beason is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary Tom Weaver (Lynn); two half-brothers, Spencer Armstrong (Ruth), and John Armstrong (Libby); one half-sister Georgia Dozier (Eugene).
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta Beason, one son, Bill Beason, Jr of Heber Springs, AR, one daughter Carla Starks (Bobby) of Sheridan, AR, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from West Memphis High School, proudly served in The Strategic Air Command (SAC) of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Memphis Defense Depot as director of Data Systems. After many years living and working in Memphis, TN, he spent his retirement among friends in Tumbling Shoals, AR for 26 years. His loved ones will remember Bill as an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and all things Elvis, particularly his gospel music. Even as his mind failed him, he still cherished his memories of times with childhood friends, many who remained close to him throughout his life. Those who knew him well knew he never met a stranger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice, or Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Dr., Little Rock, AR, 72205. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
