Irwin "Greeny" Greenberg, 89, of Suffern, NY, passed away on December 5, 2023. Born on February 13, 1934, in the Bronx, Irwin was a beloved husband, father and brother.
Irwin, known affectionately as Greeny, was a fun-loving family man who had a passion for the New York Yankees, betting on the ponies, and playing the lottery. If you knew Irwin he would bet on all the numbers of his children and grandchildrens birthdays.
In addition to his vibrant personality, Irwin proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1953 to 1955. He always loved talking about the "Navy" days.
Irwin is survived by his children, Sharon Greenberg Wollman and Rick Wollman who he proudly called his son) of Palm Beach Gardens. FL. His beautiful grandchildren Jess and Justin Gutwetter, Melissa Hamza and Eric Greenberg. He is also survived by son Marc Greenberg (Suzanne) of New City, NY as well as his sister, Lillian Katz. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Gail.
Irwin's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his fierce love of family, laughter over silly jokes and the love he had for his wife Gail. May he be dancing in Heaven with her. May he rest in peace.
