Age 97
Passed away peacefully July 6 at Our Lady of Peace hospice.
He left behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Margaret Wolfe, sons, Joseph Bowler and Thomas (Michele) Bowler, grandchildren, Sarah( Josh) Mensch, Ryan (Tabitha) Bowler, Patrick (Emily) Wolfe, Anne (Mitch) Mandell and Claire Wolfe. Great-grandchildren, Evelyn Bowler, Eloise Bowler, Walter Wolfe, Margaret Wolfe, Addison Mandell & Brooks Mensch.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Anna C. Bowler and son, Daniel M. Bowler.
Bill was born January 10, 1928, in St. Paul. He graduated from Cretin High School and the College of St Thomas. He served in the US Army from June 1945 until May 1947 mostly in the Philippines. He later joined the Air Force Reserves and was called up for the Korean War from June 1950 until July 1953. After his military service he joined his father as a carpenter in Daniel T.Bowler and Son. After his father retired, he was joined by his son, Thomas Bowler, until he retired in 1990. He was a member of Carpenter's Union for 60 years until his death. After retirement he enjoyed genealogy, playing senior softball and most of all attending his grandchildren's activities. Bill was a lifelong fan of baseball.
He lived in the home that he built in Roseville when he married Anna in 1955 for 67 years. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be at 9 am and the funeral mass is at 10am, Friday July 11th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2090 Hamline Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113.
