William Sidney "Bill" Cleek, Sr. was received into the arms of the Lord on July 28th, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on April 15th, 1933, in Esserville, Virginia. A devoted believer in Christ, Bill served many decades as a deacon at Calvary Pentecostal Church and later worshiped faithfully with the congregation of Donelson First. His quiet, steady faith guided his words and actions, reflecting a life marked by honesty, compassion, and unwavering loyalty. Bill answered his country's call in 1954, entering the United States Air Force. Rising to the rank of Technical Sergeant at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, he traveled around the globe visiting places such as Japan, Turkey, Greece, and Vietnam. By divine appointment at the Kauphy Shop in Nashville, Bill met Willie, the love of his life! Their marriage, blessed for 66 years until Willie's passing in 2020, was a testimony of commitment grounded in faith. Together they set Sundays aside for family, loading the car for state-park picnics, beach walks, and fishing trips that bonded their family and created treasured memories. One of Bill's passions was for sports: baseball, football, bowling, and golf, even coaching his sons' Little League teams. He was a dedicated coach that ensured every member of the team was afforded the opportunity to play in each and every game. Known for being loyal, organized, supportive, compassionate, and honest, Bill modeled what it means to be an authentic, faithful Christian. His legacy is one of steadfast faith, love of family, and a true servant's heart. May the Lord grant eternal rest to His faithful servant and may all who knew Bill find comfort in the promise, "Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord." Those who have passed on before him are parents Earl Thomas and Anna Bernice Cleek, siblings, Dewey Cleek, Norma Scott, Omer Cleek, Bobby Cleek, Betty Cleek, Franklin Cleek, Anna Carter, grandson, Ronald Lawrence Cole, III, and daughter-in-law, Mary Cleek. He is survived by daughter Ruth (Bill) Whittinghill; sons Michael Cleek and William S. Cleek, Jr; grandchildren Natasha Renee (Dean) Flener, William Sidney Cleek III, Derick (Ashley) Cleek, and Michael Eugene Cleek II; great grandchildren Sidney Ellis Cole Flener and Lyra Renee Flener.
