William Finklea Obituary

William Jenkinson "Billy" Finklea passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Kannaday Funeral Home of Latta is assisting the family. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, 4:00 PM graveside, at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Born November 24, 1948, Billy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Fore and Belva Jenkinson Finklea and the third child in the family.
Billy was well-known in the Latta community and the area. He was very active in the Boy Scouts, where he was a member and later an assistant leader for many years and attended Camp Coker until he was no longer able.
Billy loved NASCAR and University of South Carolina Gamecock football. He enjoyed putting together model cars, making LEGO creations, fishing, collecting stuffed animals and toys, collecting arrowheads, and coloring.
Billy loved animals and had many cats over the years. Billy loved honey and always had a honey bear at the table. Billy also loved duct tape and could fix anything or create anything with duct tape. He even created a pair of duct tape jeans that he often wore.
Billy will be dearly missed by his brother, Tracy Fore "Buzzy" Finklea and wife, Nancy; brother-in-law, A. Glenn Greene, Jr.; nephew, A. Glenn Greene, lll., and wife, Beth, and their children, Rachel and Jessie Brown; niece, Belva Kathryn "Polly" Greene Haselden, and husband, Scott, and their children, Lola and Sophie Haselden; niece, Nancy Elizabeth "Betsy" Finklea; niece, Belva Finklea Britt, and husband, Andy, and their children, Savannah and Christian Britt; niece, Tracy Fore Finklea, III; and numerous cousins and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Belva Greene of Latta.
