William Thomas (Tom) Folmar passed away on July 30, 2025. He was born November 26, 1940 in Covington County, Alabama to Leon Milner Folmar and Charity Bracken Folmar. He graduated from Opp High School, Opp, Alabama in 1960. He served in the Army National Guard, 131st Tank Battalion, Opp, Alabama 1957-1963, Berlin Crisis, Fort Irwin, California. Mr. Folmar was a member of Woodland Methodist Church, Pike Road, Alabama.

Mr. Folmar worked as an Insurance Agent with Independent Life in Columbus, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama for 5 years. He was an Agent with State Farm Insurance in Montgomery, Alabama for 38 years, retiring in 2006.

Tom was predeceased by his parents and brother, Homer Leon Folmar. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat Folmar; children: Scott (Cheri) Folmar, Brad (Kim) Folmar, Robby (Jennifer) Speight, and Sandy Speight Shaw; grandchildren: Will (Kyndl) Folmar, Addison (Toby) King, Trey (Lauren) Speight, Shea Speight Muller, Griffin (Reagan) Speight, Kayla (Dustin) Wallace, and Kristen (Kenny) Budd and brother Dwain (Olivia) Folmar.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at Elam-Davison Memorial Cemetery (Elam Primitive Baptist Church) in Goshen, Alabama with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. There will be a processional leaving the funeral home to the cemetery at 10:30am if you wish to join.
