William J. Gerow, Sr., 86, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Friday evening, July 11, 2025 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health.
Born in Nashua on May 20, 1939, he was a son of the late William Bernice and Collette Eva (Laplante) Gerow. Educated in local schools, "Bill" also attended the former Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Bill began his career with Beebe Rubber Company in Nashua and continued at the former Pandora Sweater Factory in Manchester and then with BAE Systems in Nashua. He later worked as a baker for Market Basket in Hudson.
An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a life-member of the Fitchburg Fish and Game Club.
Bill was the widower of Margaret L. "Peggy" (Gallup) Gerow, who passed away on December 10, 2023. They were married on September 20, 1977 and shared over 46 years together.
Members of his family include three children, William J. Gerow, Jr. and his wife Eileen, Sean Gerow and Tina Gerow; nine grandchildren, Maximilian, Will, Jessica, Genevieve, MacKenzie, Everleigh, Jasmine, Jahmar and Breanna; two great-grandchildren, Jaslynn and Avyanna; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by two brothers, Gene and Robert; and two sisters, Theresa and Angela.
Family and friends are invited to the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Saturday, July 19th from 3 to 5 p.m. followed by a prayer service.
