William "Billy" Arlington McHale, 70, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:00 am July 15, 2025 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mount Vernon. He was born January 3, 1955 in New Jersey to the late John Lyndsey McHale and Gail Iris (Meek) Dochmonish.
Billy is survived by his son, Ryan Michael McHale of Colorado; daughter, Chasi Mi Rigli of Colorado; step son, Nathan Zimmer of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Richard Christman of Stoystown, Pennsylvania, Mike Loue of Sammerset, Pennsylvania, and Nick Casbar of New Jersey; sister, Carmilla Casbar of New Jersey; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Louise Kuneman and her family including her daughter, Teresa Aud and her son, Erick Ingram; and the Nature Trail employees and residents who loved him very much.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Captain William McHale and Linsey "Bennett" McHale; maternal grandparents, Arlie and Laura Meek; brothers, John McHale, Jr. and Douglas McHale; and uncle, Steve Meek.
Billy was of the Catholic faith and loved fishing and playing pool. He was a cross country semi driver for many years and later worked as a diesel mechanic at Norris in Waltonville, Illinois. Billy was a people person. If he knew you, he loved you. Billy was loved and will be greatly missed.
