Bill was born September 14, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Richard Needs and Loretta (Gatewood) Needs. On November 9, 1984, he was united in marriage to Theresa (Tackett) Needs who survives.
He is also survived by two children, Kelsey Needs and Kyle Needs; grandson, Dylan Needs; sister, Elizabeth (Brian) Runyon; niece, Ashlee (Eric) VanCourt; great-nephew, Harlan VanCourt; great-niece, RaeLynn VanCourt; nephew, Chase (Hannah) Runyon; great nephews, Brentlee Runyon and Bryar Runyon; nephew, Christopher Needs; great nephew, Conner Needs; nephew, Shawn Needs; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Needs; nieces, Lyndsey Needs and Hadyn Needs; grandparents, Viola and William Gatewood and Clara and Everett Needs; and in-laws, Lonnie and Nadine Tackett.
Bill cherished spending time outdoors with his family and was an avid supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes. His favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking, and he had recently taken up golf.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Boyer Funeral home, Waverly, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at Boyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi, Ohio.
