Xuan Ngoc Nguyen, aged 97, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at Methodist Village Senior Living. Xuan was born on February 20, 1928, in Bien Hoa, Vietnam, to Chon Thi Tran and Dai Van Nguyen.
Early in her life, Xuan proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the Vietnamese Women's Army Corps, demonstrating strength, resilience, and deep devotion to her country. Xuan found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending peaceful days fishing, dancing with friends and loved ones, and tending to her garden with care. Her faith was a guiding light, and she was a dedicated member of the Vietnamese Gospel Baptist Church.
She will be remembered as a courageous woman, a loving and selfless mother, and a true patriot-proud of her roots in Vietnam and equally devoted to the country she came to call home.
Xuan is survived by her loving children, Le Tuyet Nguyen, Tu Qui Nguyen, Mai Ngoc Qui Nguyen; sixteen grandchildren, Tara, Danny, Thomas, Emely, Tina. Phillip, Th, Vuong, Tram, James, Michael, Huong, Lam, hang, Hung, Ha; eleven great-grandchildren, Connor, Carson, Noah, Bao, Miche, Carol, True, Cin, Haley, Benjom, and Breanna.
There will be viewings at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. as well on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel with Interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith.
