We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt who died peacefully with dignity, grace and love surrounded by her adoring family and close friends.
She had a long and storied career. She worked at Furr’s Cafeteria for many years and made life-long friends who she cherished. She worked with her sister for many years at PC’s Restaurant and Lounge. She later worked at The Recovery of Alcoholics, The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Fe, and retired from the Salvation Army. She always led a life of service.
She is survived by her children Laura Christian and Jeremy Chavez. Her grandchildren, who she just adored. Santiago and Grace Chavez. Isabella Christian-Padilla, Alexandria Lujan, Kyra and Tighe Chavez, and Zion and Lilith Romero. Her brother, Billy (George) Chavez (Denise). Many nephews and nieces who she always adored. Great grandchildren, Kayden and DeVon Monsey. The light of her life for the last three years. They will always be her baby cakes.
She was preceded in death by two of her children - Jacob Chavez and Roberta Abeyta. Her parents Manford and Isabel Chavez. Her siblings Ruben, Bobby, Gilbert, Adele, Frank Ulibarri and PC (Priscilla Ulibarri).
Her niece Paulette Ulibarri and her nephews Eric Harris and Billy Chavez (Charlie Brown).
We would like to thank those who were her special angels the last six weeks of her life. Michael De La Torre, Donna Gomez, Kathy Yardman, Diana Vigil, Maxine Tena, Melissa Velarde and Lorene Chavez. Thank you for your time, love and generosity. We know you loved her and she loved you!
John Paul, Pam and Jolene Ulibarri. You always had her back and took care of all her needs. She loved you like you were her own. You always had a special place in her heart!
Thank you to the nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care and Enchanted Sky Hospice for your kindness, care and generosity of our Mom during her treatment and her final days with us.
Services will be held on August 28. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will happen at 10 a.m. at Santa Maria Del La Paz.
