Yvonne H. "Pete" Malecke Saginaw, Michigan
Loving sister and aunt passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Optalis at St. Francis. Age 89 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Waskiewicz) Malecke, Yvonne was born October 2, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan. Yvonne was a teacher and retired from List Elementary School in Frankenmuth. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, skiing, bowling, golfing, watching baseball and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sisters, Ellie and Michael O'Connor, Saginaw; Josephine and Taka Sokei, Kapaa Kauai, Hawaii; five nieces and nephews, Patrick and Kris O'Connor, Kathy and George Hagen, Tom and Shelly O'Connor, Ann and Bill Eddy, Allison and Bobby Pratt; several great-nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at St. Francis Home for the many years of loving care given to Yvonne.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven M. Gavit will officiate with the burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. Please share memories and condolences with the family at snowfuneralhome.net
