Mary Petty Obituary

Mary Katherine Petty, 92, of Callahan, Florida, passed away June 23, 2025 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
She was born Dec. 12, 1932 in Colquitt, Georgia, to the late Thomas Milton Mock and Myrtice Catherine Houston Merkerson. She graduated high school from Miller County High School. She was the secretary and owner of the family carpet business with her husband, Troy. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Petty, and a son, Stephen Craig Petty, Sr.; and two sisters, June Martha Lane and Susan Maxine Butler.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Wanda Petty; her grandchildren, Stephen Craig Petty, Jr., Stephanie (Scott) Pejsa, Erin Catherine (Josh) Voss, and Olivia Petty; great-grandchild, Iris Ester Pejsa; her brother, Glen (Barbara) Mock and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Callahan. Brother Keith Butler officiated. Burial followed in Jones Cemetery.
