Rex had a large family that he loved fiercely. After high school, he served our country as a member of the Navy, eventually settling in Memphis, where he lived for over 50 years until moving back to central Illinois.
Rex loved being at the softball field, whether he was playing, coaching or watching his kids and grandkids. He often told stories of coaching his daughter's softball team to the Red Devils City Championship and spent the last few years watching his granddaughter, Sadie Grace Walsh, on the Sages field. Rex was an inviting, easygoing and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
