Donald Sorrels Obituary
March 9, 2025
Donald L. "Poochie" Sorrels, of Buena Vista, formerly of Madison Heights, Va., passed away, Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Hunter W. and Lillie F. Sorrels.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice K. Sorrels; sister, Edith S. Austin; and brother, Glen W. Sorrels.
Donnie retired from B.W. X. Technology, Lynchburg, Va. in 2002 with 35 years service.
He is survived by brother, Joseph W. "Red" Sorrels; fiancé, Betty Wright; nieces, Carolyn G. Topping, Pamela G. Ragland, and Donna S. Walton; nephew, Ronald G. Green; and great nephew, Kevin Topping.
Special thank you to the Wright family for the loving care and support to Donnie these last few years.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Butch Grow officiating.
Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.

I'm so sorry to hear of Donnie passing. I went by his house in Madison Heights several times over the last few months to see him, but didn't know he hasn't been living there. I wish I could have seen him one more time. He was a good friend to my father, and I knew him as a child through my dad, and then years later ended up working with him. He was a kind, and gentle soul. He always had a smile on his face. I will miss him.
