Emmy Oliva Obituary

Oliva - Emmy Lou (Hauger), of Brookville, NY, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born May 8, 1931, in Astoria, to Joseph and Emma Hauger. She attended the School of Industrial Arts ('49) and NYIT ('77), where she earned a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and graduated Cum Laude. Emmy Lou was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Joseph Oliva, Sr.; her brother, Joseph Hauger, Jr.; and her grandson, Joseph T. Oliva. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Oliva, Jr. (Theresa), Estelle Scarpinato

(Emanuel), Dianne Oliva Cobb; her grandchildren, Danielle Dieterich (Shaun), Amanda Lazzinnaro (Massimo), and Michael Oliva; and was blessed with four adoring great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joseph T. Oliva Memorial Scholarship, 7 Spruce Lane, Syosset, NY 11971, in memory of her grandson, Joey. Visitation Wednesday, 4pm-9pm, at Beney Funeral Home, Syosset, NY. Interment Thursday, 11am, at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY.
