James Hill Obituary

James Martin Hill passed away peacefully after a short illness on September 4, 2025. Jim was born on August 4, 1938 in Lakewood, Ohio, to Martin Donald Hill and Geraldine (Yoder). In 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Sally K. Ohly. Jim graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and began a long and notable career designing medical x-ray and imaging technology, with positions at Picker Corporation and Technicare (Johnson and Johnson) in Greater Cleveland, and GE Medical Systems in Milwaukee, where he retired in 2000. Upon retirement, Jim and Sally returned to Ohio, residing in Tallmadge and Aurora, where they enjoyed traveling, RV camping, watching movies and the Green Bay Packers, as well as spending time with their three children and their growing families. He was always involved in the United Methodist faith as a member of the choir, men's clubs, Bible studies, and he really loved mowing the church lawn with the guys.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald (Sue). He is survived by Sally, his wife of 66 years; his sister, Dona (Al); brother, David (Elaine); children, Ron (Margie), Sharon (Scott), and Richard (Lisa); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Road, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023.
